Amicum Redire

Agony swirling between thy ears

Nearly bringing thou to tears.

That did cease when rest was sought,

Surprised was thine when waking brought

His eyes to meet and lock with hers

She who left so long before,

Now they all began to stir;

Every feeling we may afford.

Blessed we charged for to embrace.

Our souls did touch how sweet thy taste.

How bitter & sweet did reunite.

Even if just for a night.

Grateful just to view her face.

Typically not one to feel,

Yet this was a special case.

Off away my thoughts did peel,

Caught by paper not to waste.

So the show it still goes on.

On it goes, indeed it shows,

The path to that we call our home.

Where the heart did and does lie.

Lies our hearts tell you and I.

We try and try to outsmart ourselves,

So lay thy down besides the shelf.

There we’ll see what’s in his eyes.

The pain that grows in sweeping tides.

Cry you might but don’t feel bad.

This is all we’ve ever had.

Any else’s we may hold, must

Die before the quick and bold.

When everyone is but a thief,

Being dumbs the only crime.

What a beautiful relief,

To know that everybody lies.
